PARADE OF THIEVES
Horses in my work act as a symbol for the self and the collective. A running horse is beautiful, wild, individual, and one of the herd. They move together as a parade of thieves — running on stolen time through forgotten memories, recalled in flashes, random and fleeting.
I’m interested in the relationship between the collective and the individual, and how the collective is comprised of individuals, individuals comprised of multi-faceted fragments of the self. Both the individual and the collective are living, breathing entities, each informing each other as they simultaneously evolve.
